TEI Comments on EC Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base Consultation

On January 7, 2016, Tax Executives Institute filed comments with the European Commission regarding the Commission's "re-launch" of its common consolidated corporate tax base (CCCTB) proposal. Among other things, the Institute's comments focused on the need for the CCCTB proposal to (i) include the consolidation component, either immediately or as a required next step in a staged approach, (ii) provide rules for reconciling differences from a CCCTB and countries that apply the arm’s length standard to intercompany pricing, and (iii) determine appropriate allocation keys to distribute income among countries that adopt the proposal.

The comments were prepared under the aegis of TEI's European Direct Tax Committee, whose chair is Nick Hasenoehrl. Benjamin Shreck, TEI Tax Counsel, coordinated the development of the Institute’s comments.
