TEI supports students in developing a passion for taxation with our annual International Tax Case Competition. With a prize of CAD$2,000, the competition will bring together mentors from the TEI membership and judges from IFA Canada for an exciting day of studying and collaboration in beautiful Montreal, Canada. Applicants must be students at the time of application.
This program will cover an international tax topic and participation does not require specific training or specialization; however, all participants must agree to attend in person. The time commitment is (i) a 3-hour course on relevant international tax concepts, (ii) 3-4 one-hour meetings with the mentor, and (iii) 20-30 hours readings that will be provided. This event will take place from August 16 to August 17, 2024. Registration must be completed by the university. Please see below for more details.

Eligibility:
- Open to all students studying taxation at the time of their application.
- Students studying towards a postgraduate degree in tax or law will have a preference.
- Submission: CV and transcript
- Language proficiency: English
*Must be willing to travel to Montreal, Canada
Teams:
- Groups of 4 students with one TEI mentor
- One team (four students) per school
- Teams will be formed by respective universities
Participation Cost:
- TEI Student Membership (for each participant): USD$25*
- Competition Fee: free (limited space)
*TEI will waive this fee in specific cases if it prevents an individual from participating. Please reach out.
