PROGRAM CONTENT
This program provides an overview of key partnership taxation concepts and explores the evolving role of technology in the tax profession. Participants will gain an understanding of the fundamental rules governing partnership transactions, allocations, basis management, and the taxation of flow-through entities. The program will also examine how artificial intelligence, enterprise data platforms, and emerging technologies are transforming tax operating models and enabling greater efficiency, insight, and innovation within the tax function.

SPEAKERSMax Pakaluk, Mark Tucker, Tom Lang, and Jack Kleinrichert bring deep experience across partnership taxation, tax technology, and practical tax function transformation. Together, they will offer technical insights and practical perspectives on partnership transactions, basis and allocation considerations, and the ways emerging technologies are reshaping tax processes and operating models.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES After completing this training, participants should be able to:

  •    Explain the key tax consequences of partnership transactions under Sections 721, 731, 732, 741, and 752, including the impact of disguised sale provisions.
  •    Apply core partnership taxation concepts, including basis management and Section 704(c) allocation principles, to common business scenarios.
  •    Assess the significance of basis tracking and allocation methodologies in managing tax implications for flow-through entities.
  •    Describe how artificial intelligence and enterprise data platforms are transforming tax operating models and tax process execution.
  •    Identify opportunities to leverage AI, low-code, and no-code technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the tax function.

PROGRAM REGISTRATION AND ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS Registration for this training will take place at the Triangle Plaza East Tower in Chicago, IL. To register, you must check in to each session using the link and code provided by the instructor. At the end of each session, you must check out to record your attendance minutes. Only participants checking in and out will receive credit for the session and the total minutes of attendance will be used to determine the continuing education credits earned by each participant.Attendance for a minimum of 50 minutes is required to earn full credit for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit. Partial continuing education credit may be available after earning the first CPE credit.
