The new TEI EMEA Chapter Board of Directors (BoD) is in place since 1 July and I am honored to be the President for the coming year. Together with the various Chapter Committee Chairs, we are committed to make the coming year a success, building on the great work done by my predecessors, as well as all active members. After all, TEI is an organization by its members for its members.

Members

Today, the Chapter has 306 members, a lot of which are active and regularly attending the conferences and other events. We hope to welcome many of you in the coming year.

Some members still have not renewed their membership. Please do so at your earliest convenience. You can also contact Kristin Sperling (see e-mail further below) in case you have problems renewing.

Region IX VP

TBC of the Asia Chapter will be the Regional VP of Region IX (EMEA and Asia). The main function of the RVP is to keep the US Board informed about the Chapter activities and to identify members who will participate in the TEI US nominating Committee.

A big thank you to predecessor Clive Baxter from the EMEA Chapter for the great job done over the last year.

TEI Awards

As in previous years, TEI will grant 3 awards of USD 1,000 (previously USD 500) to tax students at Universities in Europe. A grant has been awarded in the International Tax Center in Leiden on 26 August. This year we will add a 4rth award to our list for the International tax program at Oxford University.

Finally

For those of you who are relatively new or wish to reactivate your membership, feel free to contact any of us. The EMEA Chapter is a very open and informal organisation which in my view is worth investing some time in. Also, suggestions, comments or ideas to make the Chapter even more attractive to its members are more than welcome.

Chapter Leadership
