This position is responsible for managing the domestic federal tax compliance function and the quarterly/annual domestic federal tax provision process as well as providing support to other tax functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and/or manage outsource providers in the preparation and review of federal consolidated 1120, including researching tax issues identified during the return preparation process to ensure accuracy of filings.
  • Manage outsource projects – DPAD (section 199) and R&D credit studies.
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end tax accounting functions, including review of individual legal entity domestic current and deferred provisions and return to provision analyses, review of consolidated domestic current and deferred provision, review of the annual return-to-provision true-up, analysis of the need for valuation allowances for deferred tax items and tax attributes and draft memos and calculations to support FIN 48 positions.
  • Support domestic acquisitions and integrations
  • Preparation/review of quarterly federal estimated tax payments
  • Supporting or leading other tax projects (i.e. tax planning), as assigned.
  • Assists with Income Tax Audits, as assigned.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding and experience in the application of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience in federal and state income tax compliance including use of tax preparation software (CORPTax experience preferred).
  • Must possess proficient-to-advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Team leadership skills, including experience with delegation of work, coaching and feedback, performance evaluations.
  • Ability to work within complex finance and tax organization and to lead or participate in team projects and activities.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting; a post-graduate degree in business, tax or law is preferred.
  • Possesses 5 or more years in a financial or tax accounting role.
  • CPA certification.
