Fortive is seeking a Tax Manager, transfer pricing to support Global Tax and contribute to the overall success of the Fortive group. Transfer pricing is at the heart of most international tax planning and projects. We are looking for proven skills in technical OECD transfer pricing principles, business acumen, cross-functional collaboration, effective oral and written communication, and continuous improvement. This role will interact with our global tax team, finance leaders across the Fortive group, and external advisors for effective compliance with OECD and statutory transfer pricing requirements.

Candidate Profile & Responsibilities:

The Tax Manager, transfer pricing will be results-oriented and responsible for managing the transfer pricing workflow process. Reporting to the Sr Manager, transfer pricing, essential duties of this position include:

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and embrace new tools for automation
  • Collaborate with teams in tax, accounting, financial reporting, and supply chain across the Fortive group for accurate documentation, effective operational transfer pricing, and coordinated impacts of transfer pricing to VAT and customs
  • Manage inventory of controlled intercompany transactions and associated transfer pricing methodology
  • Manage centralized repository of transfer pricing documentation and maintain value chain maps
  • Manage and develop efficiencies for country-by-country reporting
  • Manage and actively participate with outside advisors in functional analysis, comparable searches and localized documentation to ensure global documentation consistency
  • Develop and maintain single page overviews for each legal entity and collaborate to develop analytical tools to validate forecasted margins
  • Develop guidance and educate finance leaders on policy for segmented financial statements
  • Support transfer pricing due diligence for tax M&A team
  • Support tax valuation analysis for company restructuring
  • Support transfer pricing analysis for evaluation of cross-border planning projects


To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; Graduate degree and professional certifications preferred (e.g., MBA, MST, CPA)
  • 7+ plus years of progressive transfer pricing experience in a global organization
  • Outstanding issue recognition skills
  • Outstanding opportunity recognition skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking ability and strong financial acumen
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented with advanced reporting skills
  • Experience with Oracle HFM, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Visio, transfer pricing software and reporting tools preferred
  • Proven track record of process improvement
  • The ability to balance a partnering approach with firm stance on ethics and statutory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities in a high matrixed organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to provide clear and concise information to individuals outside the transfer pricing team
