Responsible for managing the tax return reviews relating to our tax syndication portfolio.


  • Manages the syndicated tax return portfolio, ensuring lower tier returns are reviewed and processed in a timely fashion, and that syndicated fund level returns are prepared and reviewed to meet 3rd party investor deadlines
  • Manages a team of Tax Analysts to ensure tax returns are reviewed timely and accurately, and processed in accordance with documented procedures
  • Provides periodic pipeline status reports to monitor and manage the overall tax return review process to meet established deadlines
  • Conducts or directs research relating to federal and state partnership tax principles
  • Assists with the annual and ongoing development and testing of our internal data base, including developing, testing and implementing various ad-hoc reports
  • Responds to inquiries regarding tax accounting policies, tax technical issues, and tax procedures from internal management, CPA firms, general partners and regulatory authorities
  • Provides training and guidance to assigned staff and other internal departments
  • Leads a team of tax professionals in meeting departmental goals


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • Eight or more years of experience in federal and state corporate and partnership taxation with extensive managerial experience


  • CPA license preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations as well as a thorough knowledge of partnership taxation principles
  • Considerable knowledge of government and compliance/regulatory reporting
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
