The Strategic Global Initiatives (SGI) function is responsible for leading the development of the required infrastructure to enable Expedia’s global expansion efforts. One of Expedia’s top corporate priorities is to continue growing internationally, particularly in emerging markets, and this position will be at the center of driving and supporting these efforts. We are currently in over 60 countries and have over 200 legal entities.

The SGI Transfer Pricing Senior Manager will collaborate with stakeholders across the Expedia business to develop and execute all aspects of setting, implementing, maintaining, testing, and defending the transfer pricing policies and framework. You will have regular interaction with key leaders and have a great opportunity to work at the heart of a global ecommerce business.   • Developing and delivering holistic tax strategies and policies (specifically developing and executing transfer pricing strategy and framework) in partnership with international tax and indirect tax to support global business expansion
  • Obtaining a deep understanding of local transfer pricing rules and regulations across diverse emerging markets including, but not limited to, the detailed assessment of the transfer pricing framework and interaction with direct and indirect tax systems to advise on holistic approach for market entry or expansion
  • Assess alternative approaches for international expansion under SGI umbrella and provide partners recommendations on strategy taking into account complexity on a variety of fronts including business process and administrative complexity
  • Ensuring that all tax frameworks are properly included in the analysis including close collaboration with indirect tax, international tax, and other tax disciplines
  • Collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and reporting results and recommendations
  • Proven ability to performing financial / economic analyses and building financial valuation models
  • Researching transfer pricing issues
  • Drafting and delivering transfer pricing planning and documentation reports
  • Partnering cross-functionally with tax leaders and business partners (business, finance, legal, accounting, etc.) to develop complete tax strategy that ASC 740/FIN 48 analyses and position documentation
  • Develop tax controversy strategy and audit management
  • Lead and work with outside advisors
  • Ability to draft and review intercompany agreements


  • 8+ years of transfer pricing experience in public accounting, equivalent consulting or industry experience
  • A or BS in Finance, Economics, Business with Accounting background/knowledge; advanced degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and overall abilities to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
