Position Summary:

The Senior Tax Analyst is a hands-on role, responsible for Tektronix federal compliance, provision and planning.  When required, the position will contribute to international projects.  This role regularly interacts   with other functional areas, as well as with the tax function of our parent company, Fortive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares Federal income tax provision and  tax returns for the Tektronix group
  • Works closely with parent company tax team, providing data and analysis, meeting monthly reporting deadlines
  • Collects and prepares state tax apportionment and analysis of various state adjustments for incorporation into state tax returns.  Reviews stand-alone state tax returns prepared by third party service providers
  • Research and document relevant tax laws regarding positions taken on tax returns
  • Identify risks, obstacles and issues; recommend solutions and work with management to resolve escalated issues
  • Support internal teams by providing subject matter expertise and informal training to the team
  • Proactively participate in special projects related to domestic and international income tax issues
  • Assist with acquisition accounting for income taxes
  • Partner with business teams to establish processes and facilitate continuous process improvement
  • Proactively pursue professional development activities (attending training, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, etc.)

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA license or Master’s Degree is a plus;
  • Three plus years of federal and state corporate income tax experience,
  • Proficient understanding and experience with FAS 109/ASC 740;
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines;
  • Exceptional technology skills, including  Excel and financial applications
  • Corptax© software experience a plus
