The International Tax Analyst will perform a variety of functions related to the Canadian, U.S. and international tax aspects of Teekay’s operations and planning strategies. The International Tax Analyst will have the desire and aptitude to learn the U.S. and international tax rules.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the coordination of project-based tax planning initiatives;
  • Manage and coordinate external tax advice;
  • Work within in a team of various corporate services departments in support of planning and execution of objectives;
  • Provide internal communication of significant tax matters and tax planning outcomes to other departments and stakeholders;
  • Research, analyse and document issues and changes in international tax;
  • Assist and support Teekay’s global tax compliance objectives; and
  • Assist and support Teekay’s global tax risk management objectives.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent foreign designation, or relevant tax qualification, or business designation, with at least 3 years of progressive experience within Corporate Tax;
  • Must excel at research, analysis and communication;
  • Excellent organization, time management skills, and attention to detail;
  • Strong team player able to adapt to different people and situations;
  • Ability to work on complex assignments; and
  • Proficiency with computer software (Microsoft Excel).


  • Knowledge and experience of international taxation & tax related financing and ownership structures.
  • Knowledge and experience with U.S., Canadian or European tax planning matters;
  • Completion of, or progression in, the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course; and
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally when required.
