Job Overview


Develop and implement global tax planning strategy that is aligned with Company’s business strategy, optimizes Regeneron’s cash and effective tax rate. Manage tax efficient international expansion, including all areas of US international and non-US taxes. Ensure that business development and non-tax projects are aligned with tax strategy and implemented in tax efficient manner. Primary tax technical resource for domestic, international, foreign, state and local income taxes. Develop and implement tax technical and planning tax team.


  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies, designed to manage US (International, Federal, and State) and foreign cash tax and effective tax rate.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and monitor business and tax developments to ensure tax strategy is kept current and meets needs of growing company.
  • Manage implementation of tax strategies in collaboration with legal, accounting, treasury, IT, HR, and business units. Structuring and establishing US and foreign legal entities. Establishing intercompany agreements (with Legal), as well as tax compliance and reporting related to planning in coordination with VP Tax, Senior Director Tax Operations, Director Transfer Pricing
  • Ensure that business transactions (acquisition, dispositions, joint ventures, collaborations, expansions) are implemented in tax efficient manner.
  • Review certain international components of the federal income tax return, including computations of Subpart F and Section 956 inclusions, Section 861 expense apportionment calculations, and Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 1042 upon request and in coordination with Senior Director, Tax Operations.
  • Provide technical tax support to federal, state, international and foreign controversy.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
  • Advanced degree (Master's in Taxation, JD, or LLM in Taxation).
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of corporate tax experience working for or with publicly traded companies.
  • Experience in leading the development and implementation of international tax planning strategies is required.
  • Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, major law firm and/or large multinational tax department.
  • Candidate must possess a demonstrated capability to prepare and present oral and written communications in a well-organized and compelling manner to senior management.
  • Superior knowledge in the international tax and planning.
  • Strong federal, state and local income tax experience.
  • Transfer pricing experience a plus.
  • Strong tax accounting (ASC 740) experience.
  • Able to manage and supervise multiple tasks and organizations, and be able to adapt quickly to changing business and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborative and interactive in style and action; this position is expected to conduct outreach with various business units to achieve success in developing tax strategies.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proactive and hands-on.
  • Results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Have high personal values and ethical standards.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • 10 – 15 years of experience.
  • Big 4, Major Law Firm or Large Multinational Tax Department.
  • If no ‘in house’ experience, then demonstrated ability to perform tax research and financial modeling, as well as strong accounting background.
  • Must have superior tax technical ability, as well as ability to integrate knowledge with non-tax business partners
