As Director of Tax Accounting your primary role is ownership for the US group’s tax provision and related activities.  Reporting to the VP of Americas Tax, the position’s responsibilities include:


  • Prepare and/or review the monthly/quarterly/annual federal and state tax provisions for the largest subsidiary of the group, ensuring completeness and accuracy.  This includes calculating the effective tax rate, reconciling current and deferred tax accounts, documenting quarterly tax provision processes which satisfy SOX404 requirements, calculating return to provision differences, preparing quarterly and year-end tax provision entries and IFRS reporting requirements for financial statement disclosures.
  • Requires significant internal liaison with the HQ tax reporting team in Finland, corporate accounting, and tax compliance teams while being the primary contact with external and internal auditors.
  • Automation of processes and data collection.
  • Develop working knowledge of SAP, HFM, Corptax and Longview Tax Provision applications, as well as other financial reporting tools to gather appropriate financial data.
  • Some international travel may be required.

Skills required:


  • Minimum of 10 years of tax experience in public accounting and/or with a corporate tax department.
  • Significant ASC 740/FAS 109 experience, including FIN 48, accounting for pensions and OPEB liabilities, and working knowledge of major tax jurisdictions in Europe and Asia.
  • Working knowledge of transfer pricing principles.
  • Working knowledge of accounting for pensions and OPEB liabilities preferred.
  • Strong experience in managing SOX 404 requirements for income tax accounting.
  • Strong database and desktop application ability (preferably SAP and MS Office).
  • Strong experience with using and implementing technology for the tax accounting processes (preferably Longview).
  • Self-motivated with good project and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to manage 3rd party service providers.
  • Exhibit strong analytical thinking and the ability to work in a fast pace environment with excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented
  • High Technology Industry experience preferred

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Masters in Taxation and Public Accounting preferred
