Event Description

Registration is open for TEI’s 2018 U.S. International Tax Course. The Institute’s tradition of excellence in continuing education dates to its founding in 1944 and I invite your company to send your rising tax professionals to this outstanding program. The Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center in Atlanta will once again host the program, which will take place from August 13-17, 2018.
The week-long course builds upon the Institute’s success in educating tax professionals on the fundamentals, challenges, and opportunities present in U.S. international taxation, and is relevant to professionals working for both U.S. and non-U.S. headquartered companies. Designed for in-house tax professionals with five or fewer years of experience in U.S. international tax matters, the course covers the central concepts of the U.S. taxation of multi-national businesses.
Key subjects of the program include:
•The development of the core principles that guide international tax law and policy
•Sourcing of income and expenses
•An overview of the U.S. foreign tax credit
•Transfer pricing concepts under section 482
•FATCA and other withholding and reporting requirements
•The U.S. controlled foreign corporation and passive foreign investment company regimes

CPE/CLE Information

Prerequisite: Five years or less of international tax experience. Advanced Preparation: No advance preparation required.
CPE Credit: 36 (based on a 50-minute hour)
CLE Credit: 30 (based on a 60-minute hour)

Subsequent Registrant = $1,900
Subsequent Registrant - No Lodging + $1,600

Accommodations

Classes will be held at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center. On Sunday, TEI’s registration desk will be located in the lobby of the Conference Center. The facility is a self-contained conference center and hotel with lodging, dining, and meeting rooms. Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center is located 15 miles from Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport.

Transportation

Cancellation and Substitution Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing by 4:00 pm ET on July 20, 2018, and will be subject to an administrative service charge of $75 (U.S.); for cancellations after July 20, 2018 (the date handout materials become available) and before July 27, the charge will be $200 (U.S.). No refunds will be made for cancellations received after July 27 and for no-shows. To cancel please send an email to meetings@tei.org. In the event of cancellation or over-subscription of the conference, TEI’s liability is limited to the return of the registration fee. There will be a $50 substitution fee assessed if you would like to change registrants. email requests to meetings@tei.org
