For over twenty five years, Tax Executive's Institute has met the tax controversy needs of the in house professional community through its Audits & Appeals Seminars. Leading practitioners, regulators, policymakers, and jurists join TEI annually to discuss the nuts, bolts, and nuances of tax controversy. As the tax controversy environment and challenges to effectively manage disputes has evolved, so too have TEI's programs.
We are again delighted to welcome EVERSHEDS SUTHERLAND, whose SALT practitioners will lead and sponsor a full day of instruction on state and local controversies (West Seminar only). The Federal tax aspects of our program have been modified to offer attendee-driven, issue forums, expanded skills-based learning sessions, and a full day focusing on Managing Transfer Pricing Controversies in a Post-BEPS World (Midwest Seminar only). Because we develop Audits & Appeals to meet your learning needs, our seminars will again be offered on two different dates, in different cities, with attendees able to register for all three days, the first two, or the final day at each location.

- May 3 - Managing State and Local Tax Controversies, sponsored by Eversheds Sutherland - addressing filing strategies, audit management, assessments & protests, litigation, and selected controversy issues, with panels featuring state tax judges and members.
The 2-day seminar provides approximately 16.5 credits on a 50-minute hour basis, 14.0 credits on a 60-minute hour basis. The optional 3rd-day of seminar provides approximately an additional 7.5 credits on a 50-minute hour basis and 6.5 credits on a 60-minute hour basis. There are no prerequisites nor is any preparation necessary. Seminar hours and technical topics are subject to change.
SEMINAR HANDOUT MATERIALS
Speaker Handouts will be available for downloading from TEIConnect approximately 2 weeks prior to the seminar. TEIConnect can be accessed from TEI's main website (www.tei.org). Simply log in in the top right corner of the page and click TEIConnect just below where you logged in.
Once you receive the email announcing the handouts being available, please access the handouts and download or print them out prior to the seminar. No paper copies will be provided in your registration materials onsite and onsite printing facilities will be extremely limited. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the meeting rooms, but we do encourage you to download the materials in advance since they are large files.
Materials will remain online for conference registrants for until August 31, 2017. Power outlets are very limited in the meeting rooms. If your laptop battery has a short life and you wish to plug into the wall outlets during the sessions, we suggest coming early and getting a seat near an outlet. You may also charge up at breaks or during lunch.

CANCELLATION AND SUBSTITUTION POLICY
All cancellations must be made in writing by 4:00 pm ET on April 3, 2017, and will be subject to an administrative service charge of $75 (U.S.); for cancellations after April 3, 2017 (the date handout materials become available) and before April 10, the charge will be $200 (U.S.). No refunds will be made for cancellations received after April 10 and for no-shows. To cancel please send an email email@example.com. In the event of cancellation or oversubscription of the conference, TEI's liability is limited to the return of the registration fee.
