COURSE DESCRIPTION

Suitable for corporate employees with less than five years’ state and local tax experience, TEI’s State & Local Tax Course covers major aspect of U.S. state and local taxation. Focusing mainly on state corporate income taxation, the course begins by addressing key concepts such as nexus, calculation of the corporate income tax, allocation and apportionment, and filing methodologies. Given the growing importance of financial reporting matters to tax professionals, the course covers FAS 5, FAS 109, and FIN 48, as well as the evolving subject of international financial reporting standards. The program also includes sessions on state tax planning, franchise taxes, and sales taxes, as well as on professionalism and ethics. This course is open to TEI members and non-members alike.
CPE/CLE INFORMATION
Expanded to 5 days, the course provides approximately 27 credits on a 50-minute hour basis, 23 credits on 60-minute hour basis, (including 1 ethics credit). There are no prerequisites nor is any preparation necessary.
HOUSING INFORMATION
