All Day Event

For most of you having just gone through year-end close, you can appreciate the complexity of accounting for income taxes and understand that it is a critical area of competence for tax and finance professionals.   The New England TEI Chapter is pleased to announce a Tax Provision Boot Camp.  Register early for either a full-day of “Basic Training” on March 28, “Advanced Topics” on March 29 or both days!  The courses will be conducted by a team of professionals from Ernst & Young and will include a combination of presentations, case studies and group learning.  Attending this program should permit an individual to claim up to 16 hours of continuing education credit.

Day one of the boot camp is designed primarily for tax professionals with minimal ASC 740 (FAS 109) experience. It will also be useful for more senior tax professionals who need to refresh and update their income tax accounting knowledge in particular areas.

Day two of the boot camp will cover more advanced specialized topics geared to seasoned tax professionals.  The sessions will provide theory and practical applications.

Topics will include:

·         ASC 740 (FAS 109) basics – financial accounting framework, liability method, valuation allowances and how to prepare a provision

·         Interim reporting

·         FIN 48 and tax contingencies

·         Purchase Accounting

·         International issues – CTA, ARB 51, APB 23 and the impact of IFRS

·         Stock-based compensation

·         Disclosure requirements

·         How to work with your auditors

Register Early Now – limited to 200 individuals.

Also open to TEI membership companies’ non-tax staff who would like to augment their ASC 740 (FAS 109) knowledge and non-US tax personnel who would like training in US income tax accounting.
